Take Heart

"Turn your ear to me, be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me...I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul...save me in your unfailing love...Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord." ~excerpts from Psalm 31

The Psalms are absolutely amazing, particularly those of David.  David is a biblical hero, no doubt, but I think the greatest thing about this man that qualifies him as such is the fact that in his life he ran through and experienced seemingly every high and every low that any man can face.  In a word, the man is relatable.  I encourage you to read a Psalm a day, if you are feeling on top of the world it will be easy to rejoice, and likewise, if you are down in the pits, it will be easy to realize you're not alone and find solstice, comfort, and hope.  

Read Psalm 31 on your own.  Key in on the reality that WE ARE IN A BATTLE, CONSTANTLY UNDER ATTACK.  Sometimes the attacks are small and unnoticed, other times they are tumultuous and crushing.  Understanding this reality will certainly help in seeing and knowing the reality of God as a "refuge and strong fortress."  Regardless of how you're feeling today, don't forget Christian, you have a mark on your life, and enemy bent on destroying you, the war/battle may seem over and lost, but we serve and love a God with "unfailing love," are more than conquerers, and promised victory by our amazing and gracious Father!
